I would like to briefly
explain my journey over the last seven years on how I have arrived
to this point. I quit my full time job to pursue a dream, a dream
that would give me a opportunity to travel the world and be in
the outdoors. I have made many sacrifices to pursue this and more
importantly have never giving up, even when others didn't believe
in me. I am proud to say that I completed two informational hunting
videos by myself, I had no staff to do my work, other than help
with the proof reading of the script I wrote and four hunts filmed
by others, the entire dvd series was filmed, edited, designed,
created, and marketed by only me. I truly hope you the viewer
enjoy and find the dvd series to be of help, I have put so much
into to these dvds and truly thank you for your purchase.
More About Me-
From hunting record book
elk in the hi-country to pursuing monster whitetail deer on the
river bottoms of Montana, living in the great outdoors has been
a part of my life for as long as I can remember. The idea of making
it my career is something I've been envisioning for quite some
time now. I sincerely love this lifestyle and throughout the years,
I've acquired the experience and knowledge to take it to the next
level.
My name is Steve Powers,
I'm 35 years old and was born in Missoula and was raised here
in Montana. After graduating from high school, I went to three
years of additional schooling and have been employed through the
Plumbers and Pipe fitters Union for the last fourteen years as
a Pipe fitter and Temperature Controls Installation Mechanic.
However, hunting and filming has been my true passion, consuming
almost every spare minute in my life.
For three generations the
traditions of hunting and fishing have been passed down to the
Powers Family starting with my grandfather Tom Powers Sr. His
traditions and extended knowledge from personal experiences were
passed on to his son, my dad, Tom Powers Jr., he in turn, passed
on his knowledge to me, Steve Powers, and my two brothers, Shawn
Powers, and Scott Powers.
In the 1970's my dad,
Tom Powers spent several years guiding and outfitting in the mountains
of Montana. He is the President of MT.FNAWS Chapter, (Montana
Foundation for North American Wild Sheep), and is active in many
other ways in preserving the outdoors. He continues to be my role
model and has helped cultivate my enthusiasm for hunting and the
great outdoors.
My future plans include
trophy hunts that will be non-guided in special permit areas for
world class animals. These videos will be edited to provide the
highlights of each hunt and to maximize exposure of the various
sponsors involved. They will be marketed to hunters across the
U.S. via the Internet, trade shows and conventions, sporting good
store, magazines and on television.
My chances for success
are great because of the variety and size of the animals that
I will be hunting and filming on public lands. My list of hunts
for each year is plentiful and is sure to produce some outstanding
results. The family I grew up in has thrived in this field and
is continually taking steps forward in terms of more, bigger,
and better hunting excursions. So let the adventure begin!
